Can You Hear Me Now Part 3

Back in March I posted about my trip to the Otolaryngologist (see Can You Hear Now Part 2) regarding the ringing in my ears.  I was told I had Tinnitus and that it can be caused by factors other than exposure to loud noise such as high blood pressure, stimulants like coffee, lack of adequate rest, and stress.  The doctor suggested I try listening to White Noise to help deal with the ringing.

So, my plan was to listen to White Noise for a few weeks and give an update on how effective it was on my Tinnitus.  Well, I never got around to listening to any White Noise, but I can report that I noticed on the days that I was really stressed out the ringing was loud and clear.  And on the days were things appeared to be running smoothly the ringing seemed to be non existent.

Well, based on that I can only conclude that stress is to blame for my Tinnitus.  I guess this means I need to visit A Calm Place more often.  Cool

Teen Buzz Ring Tone

Well, it seems that teens have found a way to communicate with one another with out disturbing the older folks, sort of. There is a new ringtone going around named Teen Buzz or Mosquitotone. This tone produces a sound that, supposedly, can only be heard by people 20 and under.  This sound was originally developed for business owners by a company called Compound Security Systems Ltd to help keep this very same crowd from hanging out around their shops.  Now teens seem to be using this sound to their benefit to talk and text message one another in class.

I found a Mosquitotone on line to sample at freemosquitoringtone.com

I am 30 years of age and could hear it just fine.  Actually it hurt my ears a little.  Test it out for yourself, and let us know if you can hear it or not.  Oh yeah don't forget to leave your age.

Ringtones - Pain or Pleasure?

I don't know about you, but for the most part, I detest ringtones. Loud rings are even too much for me. The most you will hear coming from my phone is one short beep. Yup. That's it. I never have trouble hearing it, and it does not disrupt anyone else's peace of mind.

I mean, I guess they are a cool way for these record companies to make up for some of the money they loose out on with illegal downloading. But you have to admit, that when you are in line at the bank having a quiet moment with yourself or better yet, at the movies and the person next to you gets a call and Nelly's "Hot in Herre" sounds off - you are less than entertained.

But all in all, they wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so damn loud! Why do we need to be alerted everytime you get a call? I am quite certain that if you are savvy enough to download the tone that you can also figure out how to turn that volume down to an acceptable level.

Ok, now that I've gotten that off my chest, let's hear from you. Am I the only one that feels like this? Where do you stand on this subject?

Let us know by taking this short survey.

"Crazy" by Gnarles Barkley

Have you heard the song "Crazy" by Gnarles Barkley yet?  Well, I have about 1,000 times with in the last week alone. No this is not due to some unwanted noise pollution, this was welcomed with open ears.

You see what this song does to me is exactly what we preach day in and day out at Acoustic Fuel. You can improve your mood with a little music therapy. Not only is the beat nice to listen to but the lyrics speak to me in such a way that when the song is over I am left feeling like I am On Top Of The World.

Some people think the song is about being on drugs, some think it is just about being crazy.  But to me, its about believing in yourself despite what people think of you.  Well that's just what I get from it or MAYBE I'M CRAZY.  How about YOU?

Check the song and video out here.

Lyric of the Day

There's a new me coming out
And I just had to live
And I wanna give
I'm completely positive
I think this time around
I am gonna do it
Like you never do it
Like you never knew it
Ooh, I'll make it through

What popular 80's song did these lyrics come from?
