i'm a soldier in the army
it's an infantry of gods
and were marching on to zion
and we mean to bend the odds
we are reaching towards tomorrow
as we lift one voice and sing
and there ain't no rest 'til death for a king, no no
said there ain't no rest 'til death for a king.

we are marching for the children
with the souls who dare to stand
we are marching for the mothers
for the fathers, for the land
we can build a new beginning
if we lift one voice to sing
that there ain't no rest 'til death for a king

Chorus
cause there ain't no rest for a king
no there ain't no rest for a king
we are marching on to zion
let the bells of freedom ring
cause there ain't no rest 'til death for a king

bloodied by the fire and cross
i've watched pale moons turn to red
i have heard the promise makers
take back every word they've said
but i still believe in truth
and truth is such a simple thing
still there ain't no rest 'til death for a king

we have been to the mountain
seen the dawning of the sun
so we will stand and deliver
'til we know the the day is won
'til we hear the peace song rise
on every prayer and every wing
'cause there ain't no rest 'til death for a king

Chorus

i believe we're all sojourners
and the journey is our grace
and i never will surrender
you can see it on my face
i am more than simple matter
i'm the gift the journey brings
and there ain't no rest 'til death for a king

if my body dies before me
then my voice will linger on
let my voice become the fountain
the horizon, the new dawn
we'll be born again in freedom
so let the bells of freedom ring
cause there ain't no rest 'til death for a king.

Chorus

i'm a soldier in the army
it's an infantry of gods
and were marching on to zion
and we mean to break the odds
we are forging our tomorrow
as we lift one voice and sing
that there ain't no rest 'til for a king, no no
said there ain't no rest 'til death for a king.

Chorus

Use Acoustic Fuel and Improve your Life!

As you know, we all have a path in life. You should also know that the path isn't always as smooth as we would like it to be. Often times we encounter bumps or other things that may slow us down on our journey. Some folks are really good at recognizing these bumps and quickly figure out a way around them. While others get caught up in names, faces, and details that allow these bumps to slow them down or even prevent them from continuing.

The team at Acoustic Fuel believes in the power of music and its ability to help us through such obstacles. Have you ever had a bad day and the "right" song started playing on the radio and your whole attitude changed? It has happened to all of us at some point or another and the team at Acoustic Fuel is determined to put together a collection of songs and other motivating audios that are designed to take us from one state of mind to an elevated one.

From now on, we will be asking our visitors to tell us about situations that they encounter on their journeys that slow them down or prevent them from going any further. We refer to these as "road blocks" and will be suggesting songs that fit the situation and that will empower our visitors to get over or around them.

So if you are experiencing a problem and would like for us to recommend a song that can help you through, contact us. We'd love to help!

You are a Beautiful Girl

Acoustic Fuel

Today we want to dedicate this song to a close friend of ours who has been dealing with the "Why would anyone want to date me?" blues. You know the "I am ugly, I am fat, I wouldn't even date myself" talk.

Well, we feel this attitude is a road block that has been keeping her from seeing the beauty she truly possesses. So, Lady T from Detroit, we are going to take you to the Top Of The World by reminding you that "You’re a beautiful, beautiful girl, You’re a beautiful, beautiful girl" with this song by Jennifer Richman.

While at the Midem Conference in Cannes, France this January, we ran into 1001 Ways, a featured group on Acoustic Fuel. Tobias, pictured along with me, told us about their Gandhi Tour, a touring music festival uniting artists and charity organizations to stop hunger and promote non-violence among all generations.

This definitely gets the Acoustic Fuel stamp of Approval, so please visit their website to find out more information.

What you put out are "Radio Frequencies"

Acoustic Fuel

Have you ever been around anyone who feels like no matter what they do, nothing seems to go right for them? Or anyone that starts something new and already has negative thoughts about the outcome? Or better, someone that just keeps a negative attitude and feels like everything is against them?

In her song "Radio Frequency" recording artist, Gino, expains you actually have control over your world and basically that "It is your body sending out sound waves of what you believe." Thus, you get back what you send out. So for those folks, we have just the song for you...

"Radio Frequency"
Gino

Just what is the "The Daily Refill"?

In case you didn't know, each week we send out what we call "The Daily ReFill". Basically, it is our weekly newsletter that highlights great lyrics from some of our best artists. Now, why we call it the daily and not the weekly, I just can't remember. But, essentially, we pull out the most powerful line in a given song and use that as our subject line. That way you can get the most "potent" part of the message of the song, even if you don't acutally have the time to read the entire piece. So, you can look at it like your "inspirational lyric of the day", or of the week for that matter:)

This month, in honor of Black History Month, we are featuring some of the most uplifting songs that deal with not only the African American experience, but the entire African diaspora. So stay tuned...

If you already get "The Daily ReFill", please let us know what you think. We'd love to hear your thoughts.

If you don't, you can sign up to receive it right in your mail box by filling out the following form.

Even though they are gone, they are Still Touching us

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
It is unfortunate that in today's society, we still experience bloodshed for the sake of freedom. I'm talking about the Iraq fiasco, I mean war, and am troubled by the casualty rate. My heart goes out to the families as it is a very sad time in anyone's life when they have to experience the lost of a loved one. This time in a person's life can leave one feeling alone, sad, and uncertain.

"Still Touching Me" by Jan Linder-Koder deals with the passing of a loved one. But, leaves you in a place of acceptance and understanding and explains that your special someone is looking down and saying, "I am Ok and you will be, too."

This song is also dedicated to the families of James Brown, Gerald Levert, and Anna Nicole Smith - may she rest in peace.

Take the Acoustic Fuel Challenge!

So, hopefully everyone knows by now what we are all about. If not, AcousticFuel.com is your source for the best audios, primarily music, that can elevate your present state of mind and broadcasts them through Acoustic Fuel Radio, the AF Podcast, and of course, our AF Blog.

To prove this, we are now challenging our listeners to send us an email describing a situation that is troubling them, a "road block" if you will. Basically, anything that is standing in their way of something that they truly want. We then promise to find a song in our databases that not only fits the situation, but helps he or she to overcome it. If we can't find one in our collection, we will refer you some where else. But, that's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! Because we have the best Inspirational Mainstream music around.

FAQ - Is Acoustic Fuel all about Acoustic Music?

No. When we say "acoustic", we just mean "anything that has to do with sound or the sense of hearing." And with "fuel" you know that means "something consumed to produce energy.

At AcousticFuel.com, we currently promote music from ALL genres. We find that most people love all types of music anyway. But, what we encourage people to do is to USE Acoustic Fuel to elevate their current mindstate. In other words, this is audio that is "good for you" so to speak and not just for entertainment purposes.

Think of Acoustic Fuel like healthy food. We know that in order to keep our bodies running at optimal levels, we need to eat food that is high in nutrients. In turn, to keep our minds running at optimal levels, one of the things we need to do is to listen to audio that works in the same way. With Acoustic Fuel, it is more about the idea behind the song, or it's good "message" if you will that separates it from other types of music. This is the "fuel" part that can take us exactly where we want to go in life.

Makes sense?

Also, in the near future, we will expand our offerings to include everything audible like mediations, spoken word, motivational speech, nature sounds, and so on. So stay tuned!

(Chorus) What you know about the struggle and the pain,
That fighting for your dignity, day after day.
The warriors and thinkers, they all gave us glory,
But ain't no need to worry, 'cause this is OURSTORY!

Will the radio play that I'm proud to be a Black man, represent that almightly African,
The strongest force in the world just recognize all of the stress I'm handlin'.
The first people to look at their hands and to give it a name looked just like me and you,
We're the first people ever to look in the sky, trippin' out on that shade of blue.
What you know about Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania
That's the place where humanity began hold on I'm a make you a believer!
What you know about Ethiopia, this fact could never be debated,
The western world sat at our feet, in order to get educated!
We created biology, psychology and chemistry,
We were the first to deal with memory, to work with electrical energy.
Now let me unleash your memory, our stories more than misery,
It's brilliant creativity, it's spirit and resiliency!
Now the builders of Egypt, they weren't white men, we gotta start dealin' with that,
Egypt's real name is Kemet and the fact is that is the land of the Blz-nacks!
In other words we built the pyramids, that's truth some people can't handle,
But Black is beautiful, that first verse? That's just a sample.

(Chorus) What you know about the struggle and the pain,
That fighting for your dignity, day after day.
The warriors and thinkers, they all gave us glory,
But ain't no need to worry, 'cause this is OURSTORY!
What you know about building on the legacy,
Of ordinary people that lived their lives incredibly!
The warriors and thinkers, they all gave us glory,
But ain't no need to worry, 'cause this is OURSTORY!

Now let me break it down about Imhotep, that African father of medicine,
Cured hundreds of diseases for his sisters and his brethren.
Ride with a brother if you want to get more, what you wanna buy this CD for?
If you sick of the system lyin' you ready for the truth then c'mon, let's go!
What you know about Shaka the Great, military mind that helped to create,
The Zulu Nation so formidable that they study his tactics right to this day!
What you know about Queen Nzingha, that would-be enslaver defeater,
She fought the Portuguese for over 40 years, man we never beat her!
What you know about Dessalines the Ferocious he liberated Haiti
From the French and the Spanish (That's outlandish, that crazy!)
What you know about Denmark Vessey, Nat Turner, Gabriel Prosser,
These are the folks that sacrificed their today so we can take tomorrow!
Your ancestors were not cowards they stood up every day,
But the truth about our people is omitted from the history books consistently.
What you know about Marcus Garvey, he brought the Red, Black and the Green
And the largest organization of Black people that this world has ever seen!
What you know about Ida B. Wells, not the projects that are down on that low end,
She fought against the lynching of Black men, from the vicious mobs that attacked them.
What you know about Lewis Latimer, he invented the practical lightbulb,
Thomas Edison gets the shine but with us Brother Latimer you get much love!
What you know about Fred Hampton, what you know about Baba Pamoja,
What you know about Black people in America we are copied the whole world over!
What you know about you, the greatness that is deep within you,
Because I care about you this is the music I'm gonna give you!

Stand for something and make a difference

Acoustic Fuel

Are you sitting there saying “Man, somebody needs to do something about this,” or “Somebody needs to take a stand against that.” Well, why can't that somebody be you?

From the War in Iraq to the issues on Global Warming, there are plenty of problems in today's world that could use your helping hands. So, listen to “Just Imagine” by Glenn MacNeil and get inspired to make a difference.

"Just Imagine"

Quote of the Day

When Mozart was composing at the end of the eighteenth century, the city of Vienna was so quiet that fire alarms could be given verbally, by a shouting watchman mounted on top of St. Stefan's Cathedral. In twentieth-century society, the noise level is such that it keeps knocking our bodies out of tune and out of their natural rhythms. This ever-increasing assault of sound upon our ears, minds, and bodies adds to the stress load of civilized beings trying to live in a highly complex environment. - Steve Halpern

Helping Hands

Acoustic Fuel

It is very easy to feel as though you are alone in this world, especially when going through a tough time in your life. That is why it is so important to surround yourself around people who are loving and supportive. According to singer/songriter, Morley, when you do, you will see that “Love is all around you, unending love around you”.

So if you are going through a tough time, let someone help you cross the rough waters. And if you now someone going through a tough time, give them a hand.

On the canvas of life
We all get our stories told
On the canvas of life... yeah

Jesus is the Artist, and we're his masterpiece
He took his brush of love, and created you and me
You see I'm so happy, he gave me a stroke of life
Made me part of his perfect blend, on the canvas of life

On the canvas of life
We all get our stories told
On the canvas of life... yeah
See our brothers out there gang banging, talking bout that's all they can be,
But what they don't know is the devil's got'em running from the thing God's ordained them to be.
Tell'em God he knows his story before it's been told,
So tell'em why in the world should he have fear, it's in God's will....

See
He made you head of your families, take responsibility
Teach your sons right from wrong, its the right thing you see
He wants to be like you, so what you gonna do
Be an example by what you do
On the canvas of life
We all get our stories told

On the canvas of life... yeah
Baby girl's got a problem, a habit she just can't beat and
The devil's gotta her running too and fro, she can't find no inner peace
When she thinks about the baby she left at home, her soul cries out inside,
So she lights up again trying to make it end, the only way she knows to survive

But wait!!
Sister don't you know you are in charge of a nation, not large but great indeed
You oversee little faces, with big round eyes, and hearts crying out inside
Call on the Lord to conquer your fears, so you can rise to what he made you to be
For you're a mother and sister to all you touch
Baby girl don't you know you are a Queen

On the canvas of life
We all get our stories told
On the canvas of life... yeah
On the canvas of life
We all get our stories told

On the canvas of life... yeah
He paints with all the colors of the wind, he breathes and new life will begin,
He takes his palate of colors and looks at you, then he blends his colors according to his will for you

On the canvas of life
We all get our stories told
On the canvas of life... yeah
On this canvas, we all get our stories told

Morning Blues

Acoustic Fuel

We found this article the other day that talked about how to get your day at work started. Though this article made some points, it really did not make any suggestions on how to actually get motivated to start work. It did list things such as file loose papers, clean out emails, and review and plan tasks for the following day. Read more here.

No disrespect to the person who wrote this article, but this "list" just made us want to shove all of those tasks to the side, get up, and walk out.

Now, we are sure that if you did a google search of how to get going in the morning, you will have a million search results. But, let us make it nice and simple for you. Just listen to some stimulating music such as I-Drive by Isaiah Williams III, and you will be up and alert, and motivated to do anything in no time.

Love Yourself

Acoustic Fuel

While going about our daily web surfing, we came across an article about a lady in her forties who, after coming out of a bad relationship, decided to take time to discover herself. By doing so, she found a sense of self love, and realized just what she needed out of life. You can read all about her here

So, we decided to dedicate this song, “She Smiles” by Gabrielle, to the lady in this article and all women around the world who have gone through the same life changing transformation.

You wanna get up and
Do the boogie oogie yeah
But you don't dare
Cause the bill is high
Here comes the collector
Knocking at you door

You can't understand me culture
No reason to revert to your old ways
Don't try to diss such a great heritage
My roots are deep
Listen to my message

I've got news for you I'm free
I walk my own walk
I've got news for you I'm free
I dance my own dance
I've got news for you I'm free
Free at last

You robed us of our pride
And took our woman for the ride
Took it like men that we are
Stood tall and got back our dignity
Now it shocks you
That your women like our vibes
When you talked about
Equality, one world, one people
One book
Tell me man
Is it all jive

You say that you've got an open mind
Stop judging what you don't understand
Don't try to diss such a great heritage
My roots are deep
Listen to my message
