AcousticFuel.com Partners with Positive Artists to Create New Digital Label

Los Angeles, CA. – With CD sales down 20% and digital sales on the rise, the offices at AcousticFuel.com’s new “digital” label, To-Go, are busy filling orders, acquiring new music and searching for new artists. With a virtual network of employees, no warehouses, and no manufacturing component, digital labels have an advantage over the big record companies who are struggling to stay afloat. By focusing in on untapped markets such as music therapy, these start-ups can prosper.

“There is a lot of powerful music out there and definitely a market for it. It’s not all about entertainment anymore. Listening to certain types of music is definitely therapeutic, much like doing yoga, eating well, or even taking medicine. It can actually make you feel better with no harmful side effects,” says creator and co-founder Jennifer Washington.

Furthermore, the Positive Music Association states that “Positive music is not only for entertainment, but a means of creating positive change in the world. People drawn to it are interested in subjects like personal development, empowerment, social transformation, peace, and more.” It is also considered to be a growing division of the Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability market, as well as in the Environmental and New Thought movements.

AcousticFuel.com plans to release 12 titles next year including their first title The Wonder Women Mixtape due out early 2008. Additional titles (Follow Your Dreams, Creative Cookout, and Breakfast of Champions) are also scheduled to be released and will feature well known independent singer/songwriters of today such as Faith Rivera, Darius Lux, and Eliot Popkin.

“Our strategy is in forming partnerships. The artists and their music are the lifeblood of the company. We are merely the vehicle. By creating equitable deals, we can create an enterprise that serves the needs of a greater common good,” says creator and co-founder Hartford Matthews.

Most recently the AF Co-Op Project was formed to improve the marketability, availability, and awareness for these talented artists. By banding together, artists leverage greater bargaining power with buyers. They can also combine resources to more effectively market and brand their products, ultimately improving their incomes.
