Self Help Music - Habitual

Acoustic FuelAs habitual,
Even as habitual as it feels, we've just got to be strong, still I feel worthless and so damn jaded
Thinking that the world might have been better off with me gone.
Here I'm laying on the edge now and it's so serrated, wondering how I've held on this long.
Can't pick up my demons no more, or I'll wind up right back down on the floor.

As habitual as it feels, I've got to be strong.
Find faith in something and just carry on.
Even as habitual as it feels, you know we've got to just be strong

Black Music Month Celebration - Chris Bolton

For generations, African-American artists have created music that communicates across racial boundaries and expresses both joy and sorrow. When facing the cruelty of slavery and injustice, African-Americans lifted spirituals to the heavens, bringing comfort to troubled souls.

Most recently, I discovered this new modern gospel artist. His music speaks the "truth" as it motivates, inspires, and understands. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Theresa Walker Nominated for Posi-Award

Congrats goes out to AF Co-Op member, Theresa Walker, on her Posi-Award Nomination in the Personal Transformation category for her song "Feel Free" also featured on AF's Wonder Women MixTape.

What is a Posi-Award?

According to David Roth of Empower Music and Arts, "Posi music inspires, transforms, empowers, unites, enlightens, heals, and celebrates the human spirit and its many forms of spirituality. It embraces diversity, builds community, cares for the Earth, entertains possibility, and raises consiousness for social justice, self awareness, authenticity, and integrity."

Wow! Sounds like this is right up our alley. But, we've been supporters of the I-To-I Ministries, now known as Empower Music and Arts, for many years and are very excited about the nomination ourselves.

This year will be the fourth annual Posi-Awards held during the New Thought Music Week this coming September at Unity Village in Kansas City, Mo. Nearly 500 songs were submitted and a nominating committee of artists, industry people and fans rated the songs in six categories to come up with the 21 nominees. The categories are as follows: Spiritual Social Action, Story Song, Uniting, Group/Chant, Healing, and Personal Transformation.

So, let's all stand behind Theresa and wish her good luck!

Focus Music

Although Misko Stanisic lives on the other side of the world. we were lucky to cross paths with him on the web a few years back. We are now proud to say he is not only a new Acousic Fuel Co-Op Member, but an Acoustic Fuel Approved Artist as well.

His latest release, Makadam, is a "classic" go at modern piano music. According to the composer himself, "Makadem is a type of road construction pioneered by the Scotsman John Loudon in around 1820. In many parts of Europe it's spelled with K as maKadam (as I did). In the Balkans, where I come from, "makadam" is usually an old deserted road on the countryside. My album is a story about the memories of my former homeland, and my exodus (as a refugee from the Balkan wars in 1990's) from the Balkans to Sweden where I found my new home."

Mr. Stanisic's straight solo piano performances are a sound for sore ears. When the radio is filled with electronic and synthetic musicianship, this album definitely stands apart from the rest. One of my personal favorites is "Luna Mare", with its old fashioned simplicity and dramaticism it could actually be the backdrop of any well scored cinematic feature. While "The Horizon", another favorite, note by note is encouraging and promotes the hope of a new day.

But at the end of my day, I must say that this music helps me to clear my head. It actually took me to a "clearing" in my own mind and helped me to direct close attention to the task at hand.

And while DJ Mister Man, on the other hand, claims it took him to more of a creative space, we'd like to hear from you. To check out a sample of Makadam, you can click here. And be sure to tell us, where does it take you?

Feel Good Music - Where I'm Supposed To Be

Acoustic FuelI went away to get a glimpse of what you had for me.
But in the end I’'ve got all that I need.
I’m back where I’m supposed to be
(Where I’m supposed to be)
I took a minute to explore the possibility, I wasn'’t complete,
but everything that’s really close to me is back where I’m supposed to be
(Where I’m supposed to be)

Inspirational Music - Fiery Ride

Acoustic FuelWhen you stand on your own two feet
The world is cruel, the world is sweet
It shifts so fast, turns on a dime
You blink your eyes, you're out of time
So enjoy the day
There's no better way

We have all heard that expression "life is like a roller coaster full of ups and downs". But unlike a roller coaster sometimes we don't know what changes will take place in our life from one day to the next. Which is why we all need to take time out every once in awhile and appreciate what we have today. So take a break from what ever it is you are doing, get an ear full of "Fiery Ride" by Paso Fino, and enjoy the here and now.

Motivational Music mixed with a bit a Creativity - Where Are You Going

Everyday I dream of what I'd love to do
But it doesn't really seem like it's what I'm gonna do
Cos life has got it's say, it's reality no end
Obligations rule my day, and frustration is my friend

Where are you going
What are you doing
Is it your calling
Does it light your fire
You only got one shot
Give it your best shot
Otherwise there's no reason
No reason for you to be
