Inspirational Music - Let Go of the Wheel

Ray HeffernanIt's not like I knew you that well anyway.
Or you'd listen to a single word I say.
When I said I was leaving you just laughed, and turned your face away
It's not what you do, it's what you don't say
That keeps me around
And it's not what I can't, it's what I can
That I can't get my head around
I can't get my head around, I can't get my head..

Close your eyes, make a wish. Tell me how it feels
When you let go of the wheel.
I'm not looking for answers, baby, no
I'm just driving with the top down.

Driving with the top down.

Inspirational Music for Kids - Big Dreams

Neenah TaylorWhen you're young they say you don't have a mind of your own
I'm here to say that I was told to follow my own

When I was young they said Neenah you are the best
I'm here to say the best don't have to follow the rest

Big Dreams, not sure the road that I should follow,
Big Heart, so I know that everything will be fine
I set my own rules, I go my own path I follow no one
My parents taught me that

Hi, my name is Doctor Sparkles from San Francisco, CA. My music is a mixture of Cabaret, Swing, Tropical, Children's, Classical

You can listen to "Last Flight of the Multicolored Angel Bird" by pressing Play.

I create music that is...
With the stage presence of "Cab Calloway meets David Bowie", Doctor Sparkles is the cosmic cabaret wise guy who makes light of self. His ukulele driven swing combines refined vocals, satirical lyrics and a lighthearted horn rich New Orleans sound. Hosts a monthly ukulele cabaret in San Francisco called "The Jumping Flea Circus"

Some of the artists that have influenced me and my music are...
For better or worse, every sound I've heard, so I strive to imagine sounds I've never heard before.

My thoughts on the power of music are...
Healing in that music can help you open up to self in ways that transcend language.

AF Co-Op Member Jonny Forbin

Jonny Forbin

Hi, my name is Jonny Forbin and I am a singer/songwriter from Rydal, PA.

You can listen to one of my tracks "Funky A" by pressing Play.

You can also preview and purchase the digital version of some of my tracks from Acoustic Fuel's Positive Music To-Go Digital Download Store here.

I create music that is...
Acoustic guitar driven indie-pop, with folk and classic rock influences.

Some of the artists that have influenced me and my music are...
My influences are quite varied and include: many great singer songwriters both past and present (eg. Cat Stevens, Carol King, Aimee Mann, Badly Drawn Boy, Jeremy Enigk, Jack Johnson and many others) ; Also, many great bands of past and present mostly indie or classic rock (eg. - Blood Sweat and Tears, Coldplay, and many others) ; and many other genres like traditional ska, some electronic and ambient music, traditional folk, some jazz, classical, etc.

My thoughts on the power of music are...
It can be mood altering and uplifting on an individual experiential level, and it can unify people through a shared emotional connection to a performance or song. In both of these respects it also has great healing power, through individual emotional connection to music or a song, and by feeling connected to a group, when enjoying a performance/concert together. In my opinion those are the major and most important powers of music in a general sense. However, there are other more specific powers of music to mention as well, such as political symbolism and rallying (eg. several musical artists contributions to the advancement of civil rights through music in the 60's and 70's). Also, another major power of music is to bring different cultures together, and to document and preserve various culture's histories. I could go on about all of these, but this is a good summary.

My mission as a musician is...
To Bring Joy and Love to the world.

Self-Help Music

Nathen AswellSet to funky little tunes and energetic grooves, singer-songwriter Nathen Aswell's lyrics have the type of messages that are empowering, inspiring, enlightening, and relaxing. In fact, his lyrics read like mantras or meditations. "Get out of your head and just do it...Animate, energize, stimulate, go to it...Do that thing that makes you sing..."

How many times you have found a song in your head that repeats over and over and over? And how many times has a song left you in a good mood? And how many times has a song left you in a bad one? It happens to me all of the time. What can I say? I am audio orientated...Highly sensitive in that area.

This week someone sent me a YouTube video featuring an artist from Detroit that sang about how "cold" it was there, and meant that in every sense of the word. I could feel her pain and her lyrics stuck with me. Stuck with me like a bad Dodger Dog. Urgghh! Not so good for the sub-consious. Because after two days of singing her hook, I needed to purge. But, thank goodness I had something to replace it with.

"Little by Little" by Nathen Aswell is the type of audio that you should listen to. Not necessarily for entertainment purposes, but for a better well being. In other words, these songs do a mind, body, and spirit good. Think of his music as something to power-up with when you are running low on energy. Like one of those protein bars that are complete or well-balanced. Or you could say, "A Nathen Aswell song a day keeps the head doctor a way!" I think you get the picture.

But, if you are the type that reads "self-help" books, takes yoga, believes in a higher power, and is inspired by Truth - this is the CD for you.

So, the next time you have a bad case of the blahs, be sure to check out "Do That Thing", "Be Still", "Little by Little", and "I Am Walking" by Nathen Aswell. You will have a whole new attitude!
