Check out my short interview with Acoustic Fuel Approved Artist, Theresa Walker...

Can you tell me a little about your upcoming CD?
I was really lucky to work with people that got me and what I was trying to do so the whole thing came together pretty effortlessly. It really moves and breathes and has a lot of color. It’s called “The Next Big Thing” named after one of the key tracks I felt most accurately encompassed the overall theme of the album. It’s just me pursuing a life less ordinary and the changes, struggles, and revelations I went through along the way. Its hope, fear, drama, disappointment, joy, heartbreak, and empowerment all rolled into one.
Who did you work with?
I worked with an up and coming multi-talented producer named Kosta Lois as well as some of the best musicians I know Jon Mattox (drums), Tim Hall (guitars), and Brian Cram (bass).
When can we expect it?
September 2008
How do the songs compare to "Feel Free"?
“Feel Free” is unique in the sense that it’s like an anthem. It’s not really about me per se. I wrote it for the soul purpose of inspiring others…women in particular. The other songs are more personal and a little more specific to the nitty gritty of me.
When and where can we see you perform?
I will be having a CD release party in October with a full band of which the date is still pending but if anyone would like to be invited just go to www.TheresaWalker.com and sign the guestbook or email me at Theresa@TheresaWalker.com and I’ll send you the info. Also, I’ll be playing a few songs this Sunday August 10 at Unity church in Westlake. After the release of the record I’ll be doing several shows…I’ll keep you posted!
What kind of messages are in your lyrics?
There’s something about emotional honesty (even if it isn’t pretty) that is really empowering. So I think that comes across. There’s also a knowing that life can be so much more than what we have settled for. I could have given up on myself a thousand times for a thousand reasons and I probably would of if I didn’t have the people in my life not letting me. Now, it’s just no longer an option. So, it’s about changing, it’s about growing, it’s about doing what ever is needed to live a meaningful life and ultimately finding joy in the process.
How can your listeners expect to feel after "filling-up" on your new cd?
I hope it makes them want to move physically, mentally, or both. . I hope they find themselves in it. I hope they feel acknowledged for who they are and a little less alone. I hope they feel a little freer and maybe even compelled to make a positive change in there life.
